Google and its derivative product, Android, have been used by a lot of people in the whole world. They two facilitate their users sending and receiving SMS and MMS through the Messages by Google app. Using the app allows the users to enjoy free service or does not reduce their data uses. The data uses are also free when the users switch on chat features (RCS).

You can start trying this using your Android smartphone. Be sure to check the Android version for the service works only on Android 6.0 and up. The service works, too, when your contacts are on Messages.

This how the service runs:

  1. Start a dialogue

  Open the Messages app

  Tap Compose

  In “To,” type the names, contacts, or email addresses of the would-be recipient. You can also select from your top contacts or the overall contact list.

  1. Send a message

  Tap the message box

  Enter your message. Tap Back if you want to save the composed message as a draft.

  Tap Send after you complete the composing.

  1. Pass on a message

After you open a dialogue, you can deliver it to a new contact whenever you wish.

  Open the Messages app

  Open a chat

  Tap and hold a message

  Tap More Forward

  Select your contact

  Tap Send

  1. Read text messages

Swipe down from the top of your screen and tap New Message to read a message you just received. Visit your conversation segment in Messages in case you wish to read the messages again later.

      Distinguish all the messages as read by clicking Tap More  Mark all as read.

      You can also play a video or record: Tap a conversation. Next to the video or recording, tap Play

      Phone a friend: Tap a dialogue. Tap Call situated at the top-right.

  Reach archived messages: Tap More Archived for doing so.
